Alumni Wine Tasting in NYC

On May 10, alumni from the Classes of 1956 to 2020 came together at the beautiful Penthouse 45 in NYC for the  ALUMNI WINE TASTING hosted by Hackley's very own Mike Kimelman ’56 and Gregory Kramer of  Voix de la Terre Wine Community. Alumni enjoyed delicious wine and stunning views, caught up with each other, and learned about European winemakers as well as grapes, vineyards, pairings, and much more. Thank you to Neil Pilsner '74 for allowing Hackley to use his amazing event space and to Mike and Greg for sharing their knowledge and wine with us.
Michael Kimelman ’56 is the founder of VDLT. His mantra, Live life, it’s the greatest game ever invented has driven his many achievements and is truly evident in his larger-than-life personality. He is a founding partner of the financial advisory firm Kimelman & Baird and founded the acclaimed standardbred horse breeding farm, Blue Chip Farms in Wallkill, NY. Michel also serves as a Hackley School Advisory Trustee. His passion for wine and the VDLT experience is what makes the VDLT community so unique.

Gregory Kramer is Owner & Managing Director of VDLT. Greg has spent most of his life trying to slake an unquenchable thirst for terrific wine and food experiences. He tried to figure out how to make this passion his career. The Voix de la Terre Community is the answer. Here, wine can be his work, but he does not have to be a wine professional (even if he knows enough to be one). He can dedicate himself to sharing his knowledge and experiences with VDLT members and continues to learn, grow and travel. He vows to always Drink Distinct.
