A Conversation with Sean Legister ‘07 on 5/8

Please join us for "Varying Perspectives in Action" -  A Conversation with Sean Legister ‘07 on Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Click here for the link. “Varying Perspectives in Action” is a speaker series designed to bring to campus – in person or virtually – individuals engaged in meaningful projects and conversations that help us to see the world through a new lens. Our speakers cover a broad range of topics and have diverse lived experiences. Most importantly, they are doing and creating in the world to help generate awareness and ignite ongoing dialogue. Many of our speakers are Hackley alumni, creating connections between our community, Hackley students, and those who came before them.
Sean Legister ‘07 has been an advocate of the intersection between personal and professional growth for many years. A former managing director with Goldman Sachs, who is now at MSD Capital, Sean attributes his success to the process of self-reflection and constant personal growth. A Black Studies and English major at Amherst College, Sean has turned his love and passion for literature and language into a motivational newsletter called, Monday Morning Lift. In his words, “The MML transcended my small intern class at Octagon. The first edition of my working, adult life was published on September 07, 2011 5:36 AM. Then in March 2017, we switched to Mailchimp after a good friend, Stephen Peyser, challenged me. He goaded: “You are working hard to produce this great content that ultimately can change lives.” Sean is committed to empowering young adults to achieve their best no matter what they choose to do in life. His newsletter is beautifully produced content that will inspire many to focus and push after what they want in life. Sean will join Upper School students during Community Time on May 8. He will spend the day visiting classes and reconnecting with faculty. Alumni, students, families, and past employees are welcome to join Sean at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening via Zoom to hear him share his story, introduce his writing, and speak to his personal lived experiences from the Hilltop to working in finance. We hope to see you there
