Merideth Maddox, Middle School Theater Teacher

While Merideth Maddox's love for performing began when she performed in her first play in kindergarten, her love of teaching theater also began very early.
While pursing first a BFA (University of Florida) and then an MFA (Florida State University Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training) in theatre performance, Ms. Maddox continued to teach for public school enrichment programs and theatre education programs affiliated with local Equity theaters during her summers off from school.

After years of performing professionally, she realized she loved teaching much more than being on stage herself. After moving to New York City in 2004, Ms. Maddox decided to pursue theatre education full time.

During her time working in NYC, Merideth was the Director of the Young Actors Program at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, a teacher and director at The Professional Performing Arts School, a director at Theatre 315 and a private audition coach.

Ms. Maddox has happily been teaching Middle School theater at Hackley since 2009.
