Gift of Stock

Gifting appreciated stock can offer tax-saving benefits and help us grow our programs. To receive the tax benefit, the donor should not personally sell the security (which needs to have been held by the donor for more than a year), but transfer it directly to Hackley’s account for the School to sell. To transfer stock, please contact Director of Advancement John Gannon P ’21, or connect with any member of our Advancement Team for instructions.

Donor Advised Funds

IRA Gifts

Hackley is grateful to accept Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRA plans. If you are 70.5 years or older, you can make a tax-free gift up to $105,000 in 2024. If you are age 73 or older and need to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a QCD can count toward your RMD without increasing your income taxes. Please contact your IRA administrator to arrange your gift and ask them to include your name as the donor of record so we can properly acknowledge your generosity. 

Matching Gifts

Many employers offer matching gift or donor incentive programs that can increase the value of a donor’s gift. To see if your company participates, please go online .

Bequests/Planned Giving

Planned giving allows you to make a lasting impact at Hackley while aligning with your long-term financial goals. Planned gifts include bequests, IRA distributions, life insurance designations and charitable remainder trusts.
