While individualized work begins during junior year, we collaborate with Upper School faculty to encourage ninth and tenth graders to focus on “doing high school well.” By engaging fully in academics, athletics, arts and community life, students naturally stretch their boundaries and grow intellectually, artistically, ethically and personally — building a strong foundation for the future.
Guidance and Support
At Hackley, the college process is about more than outcomes; it’s about personal growth and self-discovery. Our experienced counselors guide students to use the critical thinking skills they develop at Hackley to explore colleges that align with their passions, values and aspirations. While we take pride in the breadth of colleges and universities where Hackley students enroll, we prioritize each student’s individual journey.

Central to our approach is building relationships rooted in trust, care and support. We provide:
- Up-to-date guidance on the evolving admissions landscape.
- Hackley-specific data to inform thoughtful decisions.
- Personalized support that empowers students to evaluate a range of options.
The skills students develop through the college process — self-advocacy, reflection, resilience and decision-making — are invaluable and enduring. By embracing Hackley’s core values — “Enter here to be and find a friend,” “United, we help one another,” “Character is higher than intellect,” “Go forth and spread beauty and light” — our team ensures that students experience meaningful growth that prepares them for college and beyond.
