Drama at Hackley School

Theater at Hackley is a hands-on experience that brings the performing arts to life.

  • Lower School: Students participate in grade-level plays, laying the groundwork for confidence and self-expression.
  • Middle School: Drama classes emphasize collaboration, stage presence and comfort in front of an audience.
  • Upper School: Dramatic and musical productions, integrated into the academic curriculum, take center stage with in-class rehearsals and performances that challenge students to hone their craft and explore their creative voices.

Music at Hackley School

Hackley’s music program fosters a love of music as both an art form and a means of self-expression.

  • Lower School: Students build foundational skills in ear training, pitch matching, sight-reading, music history and expression. Third and fourth graders further their learning by playing tone chimes or string instruments.
  • Middle and Upper Schools: Students expand their musical horizons through Band, Jazz Combos, Chorus, Strings and Orchestra. They also have opportunities to join specialized groups, including Jazz Band, Chamber Ensembles and a cappella groups.
