The program develops resilient, interdependent learners who build problem-solving skills that connect to and expand on prior knowledge. It nurtures both character and scholarship, the foundation of a Hackley graduate.

Imagination is at the heart of computer science. Our faculty use innovative, hands-on approaches to teaching, emphasizing computational thinking, collaboration, programming logic, digital fluency and citizenship. Students analyze and create graphical representations of data, imagery, animations, multiplayer games and mobile applications through a variety of interfaces, software and programming languages. Technology is used not only as a tool but as a means of expression, presentation, communication and research.

Inspiring Collaboration and Creativity

Learning spaces in the Allen Center for the Creative Arts and Technology, as well as the Lower School technology classroom, encourage collaboration. With natural light, flexible spaces and transformable furniture, these environments encourage creativity and teamwork, making Computer Science come alive in our K-12 community of problem solvers and creative thinkers.

Empowering Future-Ready Thinkers

At Hackley, we are committed to empowering students with the skills and mindset they need to thrive in an ever-evolving digital world. Through our dynamic Computer Science program, students develop the critical thinking and collaborative skills that will serve them well in their academic and future careers.
