MS Support Services

Hackley’s Support Services department comprises specialists attuned to the developmental needs of our students to ensure that they grow and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Social and Emotional Support
Hackley’s licensed mental health clinicians work closely with teachers, advisors, and deans to support the social-emotional health of our students.  They work with students for individual and small group counseling, partner with parents and outside professionals to better support the wellbeing of students to ensure positive mental health and academic success, and devise social-emotional programming for advisory and community times.
Learning Support
The Lower School has a full-time literacy specialist and math specialist who work with students individually and in small groups.
The Middle and Upper Schools share a full-time learning specialist who works with students in individual and small group settings. The specialist works to develop executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, and time management, and to bolster study skills.  The goal is to nurture students’ academic growth through a deeper understanding of their own strengths and to introduce additional tools and approaches that can assist students with navigating their coursework.  Self-advocacy is a skill that is encouraged, as it is an asset that will help students become independent learners beyond their time on the hilltop.
Support Services oversees accommodations for students with documented disabilities. Hackley is committed to providing students with disabilities equal access to the School’s programs, in accordance with applicable law.  Students with documented disabilities may apply to receive reasonable and appropriate accommodations at Hackley.
