Middle School

Sternberg Library

The Sternberg Library is a vibrant place of learning. The physical space, located on the second floor of Goodhue Memorial Hall, supports and encourages readers from 5th grade through adults and provides a research base for students, faculty, and parents.
The library houses thousands of items including books, magazines, newspapers, and DVDs. Electronic resources that can be accessed from anywhere include over 40 databases, eBooks and audiobooks through OverDrive, and digital magazines through Flipster.

Middle School students can come to the library during their breaks to check out books. The Middle School librarian also brings books to the middle school for students to check out during their lunch periods. Monthly lunchtime book clubs are offered for Middle School students. There are no scheduled library classes in middle school, instead Middle School library instruction is integrated into the curriculum and takes place in collaboration with middle school teachers in the classrooms and computer labs. Students learn important information literacy skills such as how to evaluate websites, cite sources, and use databases in the context of what they are learning in their classes.
