Hackley School

Twelve Independent Science Research Program students joined over 800 students from the region on Saturday, March 14, to present their research at the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair (WESEF). Hackley students showed dedication and hard work over the past two to three years, which culminated in presenting their projects to scientists at these fairs.

  • Leila Ibrahim ’27 – Society for In Vitro Biology Award: 11th grade students with outstanding research in plant or animal in vitro biology or tissue culture
  • Layan Sow ’27 – U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize: Outstanding projects in water-science
  • Sophie Huang ’26 – Excellence in Medical Research Award: Top Medicine & Health, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics and Neuroscience Research Projects
  • Sebastian Jimenez ’27 – Office of Naval Research: Outstanding individual projects in science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics
  • Ethan Deng ’26 – Transforming Lives Award: Presented to projects that improve the lives of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Elan Suttiratana ’26 – Excellence in the Application of Artificial Intelligence: Awarded to projects that utilized creativity and originality in applying AI to solve complex problems
