Jim Reilly '66, Hackley's most prominent football alumnus, arrived on the Hilltop in 1961 and excelled at sports winning numerous track awards. He was named captain of the football team his senior year. After graduating, Jim was a starting offensive tackle at the University of Notre Dame, where he played from 1966 to 1970. While at Notre Dame, he was named to the Kodak All-American team and to the College Sports Information Directors All-American team.

The HAA hosted HackleyConnect: Real Estate, a networking event for alumni and Hackley parents, on November 8 at Hackley. The event included a panel of alumni representing the field of real estate and attendees included real estate professionals and those who were interested in learning more about the real estate market. Will Guidara ’97, restaurateur and co-owner of Eleven Madison Park, will open a second Pop-Up, EMP Winter House, in Aspen next month featuring a Swiss inspired menu and yurt village. Click here and here for articles on his new venture. 

On October 26, the entire Hackley community celebrated Founder’s Day in honor of Mrs. Hackley’s birthday. Established in 1911, Founder’s Day recognizes Mrs. Hackley’s commitment, forward thinking, perseverance, and philanthropy. CLICK HERE to view a vidoe celebrating Mrs. Hackley.

The Boys Varsity Soccer Team earned a statement victory 3-2 over three-peat Ivy League champions Riverdale, winning for the first time in six years on the infamous Riverdale field.

Ali Kaminetsky ’12 recently launched Modern Picnic, a lunch bag company for women. Modern Picnic provides working women with a chic alternative to the traditional lunchbox with an insulated interior and vegan leather exterior.

 

Grant Urken ‘15, a junior at Bowdoin, won the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis singles championship, becoming the first Bowdoin tennis player to win an individual national championship in the school’s history. Grant won an impressive straight-set 6-3, 6-2 win over Jack Katzman of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Stargazing on the Hilltop with our resident astronomer, Science Teacher, Bill McLay has been rescheduled to Friday, June 22 from 8:30 - 10:30 on the North Turf Field. All members of the Hackley Community are invited to attend, including families. RSVP to mford@hackleyschool.org.
