We brought a little bit of the Sting to Riverdale!
It was a beautiful afternoon for tennis and while the Fall Sting was at Hackley, we brought a little bit of the Hornet Sting to Riverdale with two incredible, action packed, three set wins! Leah battled from down one set to dominate the second set and tiebreak with her sick cross court winners left and right. Meanwhile on the #1 doubles court Nat and Emmy proved to be the better team in what was a tense match. After losing a second set tie break, the duo kept their cool and won the third set tiebreak 10-8! Nat continues to hit with pace and purpose as she follows up wide cross court shots with lasers down the alleys. Emmy is not only consistent at the baseline, but also ferocious at net! She closed out the match with an overhead smash that let everyone know they are a fearsome doubles team.
On court 1, Maddie had a tough opponent who was ultra consistent, could place the ball and who varied the pace quite a bit. Despite the challenge, Maddie showed her determination and made her opponent really fight for her win. Maddie's serve was also superb in her match. On court 4, Roya and Dylan continue to improve at second doubles. Roya is learning to hit with more pace and how to handle the bigger game. Dylan is eager at the net, hitting some fantastic volleys to end points. While Lilly's match was the last to go on, it was certainly worth the wait. She continues to hit with solid pace and is attacking at the net, with long quality exchanges becoming the norm in her matches. All of our girls are playing a high level and we are eager to watch the next match!
