Hackley Wrestlers Start Season Strong

This past weekend Hackley Wrestlers started the season strong with excellent performances all around. Coach Stanek expressed his pride after the positive start saying “I am very proud of the way we wrestled.” The team went 3-1 on the weekend with wins over Salesian, Stony Brook, and Hastings. Even more impressive, Hackley won 16 and lost 4 of the actual bouts wrestled.

Sophomore Jason Mark went 4-0 on this weekend with four pins. Junior Demetra Yancopoulos went 3-0 on Saturday with six takedowns. Sophomore Jack Kneisley and Junior Giovanni Crispi had three wins. Freshman Jack Bosco had two wins with two pins. Sophomore Dewaun Burns had three takedowns and a quick pin vs. Stony Brook.
