Ni hao, Hackley Lower School!
Taking advantage of the great opportunity at Hackley for collaboration between academic disciplines and across divisions, the Middle School Chinese program and the Lower School Spanish program are coming together to share the learning experience.
Lower School Spanish teacher Nuria Bueso hosts periodic Chinese classes for her students to introduced them to other language options at Hackley, and Chinese 8 students join the 4th grade Spanish classes to work one on one with fourth graders. Seven teams of “master” Chinese teachers taught seven duos of Lower School students key phrases in Chinese in lightening rounds and then, after the session, had the students present to their classmates.
