Track Team Performs Well at Somers Invitational

The track and field team had an exciting weekend at the Somers Invitational meet Friday and Saturday, earning several championships and setting new records.  Read on for details.
Several Hackley athletes were crowned champions in the class C division including the Girls’ 4x1600 (Bailey Griffin ‘18, Caroline Stevenson ‘18, Camille Butterfield ‘17 and Olivia Curran ‘19). Luisa Stalman had an incredible race winning the overall 400 meter dash with an FAT time of 58.8 which breaks the Hackley School school record previously held by Angelica Gregory ‘04. The boys’ sprint medley relay team (Onye Ohia ‘18, Craig Johnson ‘17, Justin Forstmann ‘17 and Amin Mustefa ’17) also took home top honors in route to breaking the school record running a time of 3:38.5. In addition the girls’ sprint medley relay team (Luisa Stalman ’17, Hannah Urken ’17 Jasmyn Phillips ’21 and Princess Ohia ’20) brought home the top class C honors. Luisa’s outstanding efforts this past weekend have earned her Athlete of the Week honors.
