Home Opener vs. Masters

The Boys Varsity Soccer Team came up against a very strong and disciplined Masters School team in their home opener Monday.

Unfortunatley the outcome was determined 15 minutes into the game when the Hornets found themselves on the short side of a 3-0 deficit. Masters found the back of the net just 90 seconds into the game and added two more before the game hit the halfway mark of the first half. Hackley picked up its level of play but Masters continue to create dangerous offensive opportunities and controlled much of the play.

After regrouping at the half, Hackley came out with a bit more energy and urgency.  The run of play became more even and Hackley generating some good scoring opportunities.  Masters added a fourth goal before Hackley notch a goal to prevent the shutout.

It was a good test that showed some vunerability the teams will address in the days to come.  Unfortunately there is little time for adjustments as the Hornets play twice more before the end of the week against league foes Collegiate and Riverdale (Fall Sting).
