Mike Leonard ’14

Mike visited Hackley’s Independent Research program on Thursday, September 7. He is currently a senior at Northwestern, and spent the summer conducting research in computer science.
He presented on his contributions to developing a novel computer operating system. In addition to teaching students about how computer Operating Systems work in conjunction with the hardware, he also shared many of the life-lessons he gathered on the way that resonated with our students, such as failure being part of the research process, determination and grit are paramount to success, and to be open-minded and learn from everyone around you.
