James Pratt '97 and Carlo Esannason '97's passion project
Fly Honey Farms, a small-scale sustainable apiary, was established by Class of 1997 classmates James Pratt and Carlo Esannason in 2017. This dynamic duo was instrumental in helping Hackley bring an apiary to the Hilltop.

Carlo notes, “This passion project started off as a mission to ‘save the bees’ but we’ve turned it into so much more. It is now evolving into bee education, sales, and donating honey to the community. Pratt and I have been able to bring in so many classmates who help and support us on this movement - it is great. We’ve engaged other class alum, some faculty, and hopefully soon the rest of the Hilltop. On most spring/summer/ fall weekends you can find us posted up at the local TaSH or Irvington farmer’s markets and online at
www.flyhoneyfarms.com.”
