Isabella Barriera ’25, Girls’ Tennis: This 9th grader has made an immediate impact on HGVT this season. Playing in the starting lineup at second doubles, she has gone an impressive 9-0 so far, including a huge come from behind victory against Poly Prep and a big win in last week’s Ivy League semi-final matchup against Trinity!

Colin Ives ‘22, Field Hockey: Colin played in all three games last week. He scored 2 goals and had 3 assists in the games. He also was integral in all parts of the game, playing every minute of each game, including the OT in our 1-1 tie with RCDS.

Ameera Shaban ’22, Field Hockey: Ameera has been a defensive powerhouse all year and continued that last week in our toughest games of the season. She is a leader on defense with her incredible speed and strong stick skills. Playing in the middle of the field, she is integral in all aspects of the game.

Iheukwumere Marcus ’22, Football: Marcus had an exceptional day defensively in the win over Rye Country Day School. Marcus had a total of 12 tackles. Two were QB sacks, 3 were tackles for a loss, and the remaining 7 were tackles beyond the line of scrimmage. A stellar performance!

Team Report: Hackley Girls’ Varsity Soccer

HGVS finished the 2021 regular season with a dominating 6-1 performance over Ivy League rival, Riverdale Country Day School. Highlights from that game include Isabella Fauber recording her first career hat trick (three goals in one game), Lila O'Brien scoring her first career goal for HGVS, and Sarah Metcalfe recording her first career point. With an overall record of 9-5-1, and 7-4-1 in the Ivy League, HGVS looks to continue using this momentum going into the post-season for the NYSAIS tournament.

HGVS finished in second place in the Ivy League for the 2021 regular season. While having three shutouts, scoring 26 goals so far this season, and allowing an average of only one goal per game, HGVS is excited to extend their season into the NYSAIS tournament. Please support HGVS and the other Hackley teams in post-season play! Go Hack!
