Athletics Highlights #10

This week's highlights feature four new Athletes of the Week, Cole Joseph ’23, Sophia Petriello ’23, Ava Lattimore ’23, and Asher Beck ’24.

Cole Joseph ’23, Wrestling: Cole went 7-1 over the break placing second at the extremely competitive Mid-Hudson Tournament. He is currently 14-2 overall and ranked twelfth in his weight class in New York.

Sophia Petriello ’23, Girls’ Basketball: Sophia had an outstanding performance in her first game back since winter break. In the 40-32 win over Riverdale Sophia had 20 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals to help seal the victory.

Ava Lattimore ’23, Indoor Track and Field: Ava achieved two NYSAIS standards and will now be competing at the NYSAIS championships. In her meet on January 10 Ava jumped 4’10” in the high jump and threw the shot 23’11” to qualify for the NYSAIS championship.

Asher Beck ’24, Indoor Track and Field: Asher had a breakout performance in the 1600 on January 10. His 4:46 time placed him second in the very competitive race.
