Boys’ Varsity Cross Country Bests Eight Schools at Collegiate Invitational

On Friday, Oct. 21, the Hackley Cross Country team participated in the newly named Collegiate Invitational in memory of long-time legendary coach, George Calano. Many runners raced personal bests, and the Boys’ Varsity team took first place.

The team beat eight other schools, including many Ivy League competitors, Iona Preparatory, and the French American School of New York. It was a great team effort from all five scoring runners, including junior Asher Beck’s first-place finish.

The Hornets will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Ivy League Preparatory School Championships at Van Cortlandt Park. Go Hack!
