Upper School Debate Team Has Strong Showing at Yale Invitational

Though the tournament was online this year, our team of debaters had a strong overall performance.

Vivek Malik '25 and Arjun Virk '25 competed in the Public Forum division, debating six rounds on both Friday night and all day Saturday. Five teams of Parliamentary debaters debated on Saturday, including seniors Sam Sanders and Harper Kelsey, Jad Benslimane '24 and Spencer Ormsby '24, Grant Berhalter '24 (in his debating debut) and Ben Iaderosa '26, as well as freshmen teams Jonah Gaetz and Shreyas Kuniyil, and Zach Weinreich and Nico Kim.

Sam and Harper and Zach and Nico broke into the elimination rounds as one of the top 32 teams to compete on Sunday.

The Hackley Upper School debate team has grown considerably this season and has several upcoming tournaments. Congratulations to our debaters!
