Director of Auxiliary Programs
Hackley School seeks a Director of Auxiliary Programs with an ideal start date on or before October 1, 2025. This is a twelve month, salaried, administrator position.
The Director of Auxiliary Programs is a strategic leader for Hackley’s non-academic offerings responsible for cultivating, growing, and managing key programs such as Hackley Summer, after school initiatives, facility rental opportunities, transportation needs, and more. Hackley prides itself on having a strong auxiliary program framework that is aligned with the School’s core values and mission. The approach is predicated on finding key strategic partners who best align with Hackley’s culture. The Director is a key member of the School’s Operations Team, working collaboratively with colleagues in Dining Services, Buildings & Grounds, Information Technology, Finance and the Infirmary. The Director of Auxiliary Programs is the primary point of contact for Hackley families involved in our programming as well as other external constituents and will provide excellent customer service and represent the School at the highest levels.
Reporting Structure
As part of Hackley’s Operations Team, the Director of Auxiliary Programs reports to the Director of Operations and Campus Planning. The Director supervises Hackley Summer staff and summer faculty as well as those involved in other after school and auxiliary programming throughout the year.
Specific Responsibilities
Hackley Summer- Manage, evaluate, and grow academic, enrichment, and sports camp offerings based on demand and institutional need.
- Recruit, ideate with, and manage summer faculty - both internal and external - to ensure broad programmatic offerings.
- Develop communications including the Hackley Summer brochure and dedicated website to effectively market the program.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage all aspects of the annual budget associated with Hackley Summer and other auxiliary programs.
- Establish and manage contracts with external partners and vendors that support Hackley Summer offerings.
Transportation- Oversee all transportation needs of the School (excluding District provided busing). This includes third-party bus contracts from various regions.
- Communicate regularly with families about School provided transportation to identify riders and coordinate with vendors for bus sizing and routing.
- Collaborate with Athletics and academic Division Directors to identify and schedule transportation needs to support field trips, athletic competitions, and more.
- Assess, negotiate, and maintain contracts with third-party transportation providers to ensure the needs of the School are met on an annual basis.
After School Programs- Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of the Lower School and Assistant Director of the Middle School to ensure the success of after school and extended day offerings.
- Ensure that the experience of families across divisions is positive and consistent, finding ways to create efficiencies and leverage partnerships and technology.
- Grow other after-school offerings (ie: music lessons) by working with program leaders to identify opportunities and market offerings beyond Hackley.
Facility Rentals- Collaborate with existing partners to identify needs, assess mission-appropriateness, and coordinate schedules for rentals including spaces within the Johnson Center for Health and Wellness, the athletic fields, and tennis courts.
- Working with others across campus, develop a philosophy for rental of spaces within the new Center for Creative Arts and Technology.
- Identify and cultivate partnerships for the rental of the new performance spaces, growing revenue and bringing external groups to campus, introducing them to Hackley.
Other- Develop a business plan and identify the needs and opportunities in establishing a School Store on Hackley’s campus.
- Engage regularly with others in the industry to remain current with trends and offerings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree, required. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in auxiliary programs, after-school programming, or camp administration.
- Demonstrated experience in building and managing programs.
- Experience in evaluating programs and effectively implementing change.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully providing a high level of quality customer service.
- Aptitude for embracing technology resources and solutions, including proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite platforms. Experience with Camp Brain preferred.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certified or willing to become certified upon employment.

Salary and Benefits
The compensation range for this 12-month salaried administrator position is $115,000 - $135,000. Hackley School offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes a medical, dental and vision package; sick and vacation time; life insurance, AD&D and long-term disability insurance; flexible spending or health savings account; tuition remission; and the possibility of on campus housing. This position is an on-campus position and Hackley does not offer a remote/hybrid work environment.
