Michael Baker ’61, business man, chef and author, adds to his resume – he’s now a playwright! On September 19 Arc Stages, formerly the Chappaqua Drama Group in conjunction with The New Castle and Ossining Historical Societies, presented a new play written by Michael, titled “In Defense of the Turkey Trot.” The play recreates a momentous trial of 1912 that took place in Millwood, New York, where Stuart Baker, Michael’s grandfather, defended a young eighteen year old woman named Grace Williams, who had been arrested for dancing the Turkey Trot and singing “Everybody is Doing It".
