Hackley Football 2011

 

The season began with change in the air as legendary Head Coach Rob Pickert handed off the reins of the football program to our new Head Coach Phil Treglia. The team was led by their three captains: AJ Wolf ’12, Will Johnson ’12, and Jack Ellis ’13 who provided leadership to our young team. Our team had a new look about them this year as they implemented a no huddle spread offense. This brought much excitement within the team and led to breakout years for Ian Parnell ’13, Luke Sweeney ’13, and Joey McDermott ’14. On the playing field the Hornets were very completive and learned to finish what they started. The team defeated Kingswood Oxford 47 to 20 on our home field to start off league competition and played an exciting brand of football that the Fairchester League was talking about. Our senior captain AJ Wolf won a full football scholarship to Duke University to continue his academic and athletic career. The 2011 Football Hornets have built the foundation for the future success of the football program.
