Hackley Fencing Triumphs

 

Hackley’s Girls’ and Boys’ Épée teams won league championship titles this season, unifying both Épée championship cups at Hackley. In addition, both Épée teams placed 1st in the team tournament event, taking home gold medals, undefeated on the day. 

Congratulations to Christina Meyer, Miyuki Sasada, Angelina Xing, Megan Retzloff, and Heather Vega on the girls’ team, and John DiLorenzo, Josh Pedowitz, Nick Hallock, Ryan Swei, Phil Brooks, and Akaash Kancharla on the boys’ team. The Hackley Boys’ Sabre team -- Phil Yoo, Alex Dragone, Tim Steinberg, Robert Link, Wenkai Qin, Rafael Girardello, and Henry Brooks -- placed 2nd for silver. And, senior John DiLorenzo, who was overall champion at the recent Individual Tournament and led his squad to gold last Saturday, is also a gold medalist as the top individual season record holder in the League.
