Never say die! 9-8 walkoff win - Scherl style!

In the true spirit that the JV baseball team showed all year, trailing 8-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Hornets rallied for six runs! In a total team effort the team closed out the season with a very exciting 9-8 victory over non-league opponent Scarsdale. Great pitching from George Santangelo through the first 4 innings, Andrew Stopera held down Scarsdale for two innings and finally Gabe Pinkus came in to pick up the victory. Ilan Gressel had a two run double in the seventh before Brandon Difalco drew a walk to tie the game....and then, the moment of truth, with men on second and third and one out Andrew Scherl lined a base hit into leftfield for a great win to end the 2012 season on DelMoro field.
