Music fans: Eliot Smith and Erick Storckman’s new album of all-original compositions “Algorhythms” is now released on the “Twin Rivers” record label.
On it, Eliot and Erick are joined by some of the most talented musicians in NYC. An eclectic blend of jazz and funk traditions they grew up with, the album has some driving funky numbers and some sweeter tunes that feature that great Storckman trombone tone. Guitarist Pete McCann and saxophonist Cliff Lyons add virtuostic edge and depth to the more minimalist styling of Eliot Smith’s keyboard work. Drummer Scott Neumann and bassist Andy Eulau round out the quintet. The talented recording and mixing of Wade Tonken really gives the album a big sonic punch.
