Hackley Boys Swimming Wins League Championship

Hackley Boys Varsity Swimming completed an undefeated Ivy league dual meet season with a League Championship win on 2/7 at Lehman college.
Highlights of the meet include a 1st place finish by the 400 Freestyle relay (R. Schaum, L. Bogart, Y. Tsukikawa, G. Towne) that set a new school and Ivy League record (3.16.23, surpassing the previous school record set in 2015 of 3/18.11), a first place finish by Liam Bogart in the 200 IM (156.77), and a new school record in the 200 Medley Relay (G. Towne, K. Spencer, R. Schaum, L. Bogart) of 1.39.31, surpassing the previous record (1.44.53) set it 2012.  This is the team’s first league title since 2013.

Congratulations as well to the Girls team, which completed its season with a strong third place finish in Ivy League competition. As Director of Athletics Jason Edwards, notes, "What is remarkable about both programs is that Hackley School boys’ and girls’ swim teams have half the amount of swimmers that other league programs have. Finishing in the top three is an outstanding accomplishment."

Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches.
