Tigers and Dragons and FUN for everyone!
On Thursday, February 2, the Lower School was thrilled to spend an interactive day with bestselling author and illustrator, Grace Lin. Students and faculty journeyed through Grace's childhood as she read passages from her award winning stories, were entertained by legends of the Chinese Zodiac, and created their own good luck drawings to take home.
We were fortunate to hear about the origins of Chinese New Year traditions that Grace learned as a young girl. She also shared her own writing and illustrating process to inspire our own budding writers and artists.
Many of Grace's books are about the Asian-American experience because she believes, "Books erase bias, they make the uncommon everyday, and the mundane exotic. A book makes all cultures universal."
