MS Students Volunteer at Soup Kitchen
On Saturday, February 11th, ten Middle School students volunteered at the fourth Loaves and Fish Soup Kitchen event of the year, located at the Trinity Episcopal Church on South Highland Avenue in Ossining.
In preparation for this event, students donated fruit or dessert, and drinks to the site, and they helped put together bags of bread, vegetables and other basic ingredients for the guests to take home after dinner. Students warmly greeted their guests and then served them a hot meal.
As always, our Hackley Hornets were very intuitive of the guests’ needs, and they showed kindness, empathy and compassion towards members of the community. The guests were grateful of the children’s service, and it proved to be another wonderful experience for all those involved.
There are still two more Soup Kitchen events taking place on March 11th and May 6th. Please contact
Jennifer Louros or
Rebecca Garfield for more information on ways in which your child can volunteer.
