Drama 5 Performing Poetry for LS Students
Ms. Maddox’s Drama 5 classes recently presented four memorized Shel Silverstein poems for two Lower School classes! After the performance, the Lower School students were asked to join the actors on stage to pose in a tableau that they saw during the presentation and then join the fifth graders in a theatre game. Drama 5-3 performed for 2F on Wednesday, Feb. 22 and 5-1 performed for 2C on Friday, Feb. 24. The classes performed the classic poems "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout," "Furniture Bash," "Cloony the Clown" and "Jimmy Jet and His TV Set."
Drama 5 is working on using their bodies and voices expressively and creatively, working productively in teams, practicing their articulation and projecting their voices as well as learning memorization skills. Drama 5 will adapt a children’s book this spring and will perform for Lower School classes in May!
