Cleaning up the River Walk

For some families, it was their first time visiting the park, while others shared that they frequent it on the weekends or after school. As one parent reflected, “It’s great to be able to give back to a community space that so many members of our community use.” It was perfect “work weather”—cool with enough sun to keep spirits high— and families helped pick up trash for an hour and a half before enjoying a picnic lunch together overlooking the Hudson. The breeze picked up enough to fly a kite, and the younger students flocked to the playground after lunch. This was the second year that the MS hosted the clean-up in collaboration with Friends of the River Walk, and the first that the invitation was extended to LS families. We look forward to it continuing to be a collaborative, annual event!
