Hackley Softball 2017
Hackley Softball built off last year’s season to go an impressive 10-8 in 2017. In addition to beating many opponents, the team won its second consecutive Hackley Softball Tournament title.
The girls worked very hard this season despite a rash of injuries that would have had other teams giving up. Receiving the seven seed in the NYSAIS playoffs, Hackley beat Convent of the Sacred Heart at home 10-0. Dana Van Buren had a stellar year on the mound. She had 161 strike- outs over 18 games and 111 innings pitched, with an era of 2.75. Lauren Ahern had the highest batting avg. at .400 and the also the highest OBP at .472 and 13 RBIs. Mirabel Mallett ’19 and Sarah Schwidel ‘17 were our power hitters combining for eight doubles and three triples.
