Hackley MS Students in Calgary
In February, four Hackley seventh graders took part in Hackley's third consecutive student exchange with Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School in Calgary, Canada. Arushi C., Willow Q., Daniel O., and Daniel P., along with Hackley teachers Dianne Fahy and Trevor Ogden, lived with host families and attended school each day while also exploring the great outdoors of Alberta, Canada. This exchange followed a visit of four Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School to Hackley this past November. These four STS students spent the week with the four Hackley students who subsequently visited them in Calgary. Hackley students visited STS during their "Spirit Week," a fun week of games with a different theme each day. Hackley students joined in the activities, and also attended regular academic classes, after school sports, and other school activities. Trip highlights included Calgary Flames hockey games, visiting Banff National Park, skiing, hiking, vistiing Lake Louise, and more! We are grateful for the ongoing partnership with STS and the valuable cultural exchange it supports.
