Fall Season Update: Field Hockey

The Varsity Field Hockey team had another strong season, winning the Ivy League Championship for the fourth straight year and for the fifth time in the past six seasons. The team also made an inspired run in the NYSAIS tournament, earning a second seed and coming up just short with a 3-2 overtime loss in the Championship game.
The highlights of the season include three solid wins against Holy Child, concluding with a dominant 5-2 triumph in the semi-final NYSAIS game; an OT win against Fieldston in their first meeting; and a convincing defeat over Horace Mann in the second regular season game to avenge an earlier OT loss.

Individually, the team also boasted some impressive accomplishments. Karina Bridger ’19 ended the season with 20 goals and two assists for a total of 42 points, and in doing so surpassed the 100 point mark for her career. She has a total of 49 career goals and 11 assists and she hit her 100th point this season. Ellie Arnold ’18 was our second leading scorer with 12 goals this season and she led the team in assists with seven. Goalkeeper Jenny Canoni ’20 broke the all-time saves record by recording her 354th save this season. She ended the season with an impressive 229 saves and a goals against average of 1.65.

The team is graduating eight seniors this year, all who have contributed to our great success this year and the dominance of our program over the past four years.
