Taking Shakespeare by Storm

While Winter Storm Riley hammered our region, Hackley's own Kioni Marshall was her own kind of force of nature, delivering an outstanding performance in the ESU Shakespeare NY semi-finals.

Competing as part of a group of 20 locals from our region, she is one of four chosen to compete in New York State finals of the English Speaking Union National Shakespeare contest on Friday, March 9th. The winner from the New York competition will represent New York State in the National Competition.

Kioni delivered a sonnet and monologue on Friday with poise, expertise, passion and humor -- and we applaud her dedication to the arts. Congratulations, Kioni!
