LS Author Visit

He read from many of his books including Uptown, Dave the Potter, and Martin's Big Words and shared his own personal journeys in writing, researching and illustrating his books. Mr. Collier described that the role of the author and illustrator was to share with their readers the ideas and experiences in the world that they may not see themselves. He also challenged the Lower School students to look beyond the words and pay attention to what the illustrations were adding to the stories the author was trying to tell. It was a truly inspiring and engaging visit!
