Impressive Results by Hackley Girls Tennis

This season the team has emphasized playing with passion and determination, improving serves and returns, reflecting on our play after each match, and using smart strategies to give themselves the best chance for success in competing for each point.

Fiona Boettner ‘19, at one singles, has played solid tennis throughout the season. Second and third singles, played by Audrey Pizzolato ’21 and newcomer Samantha Rainero ’22, have shown flashes of brilliance and lots of improvement since September. Kit Greenberg ’19 and Sadie Nipon ’21 form quite a duo of quality and consistency at first doubles in route to an undefeated season so far. Similarly, the veteran second doubles team of Leah Holmes ’20 and Maggie Broaddus ‘20 continue to prove very difficult to beat.

The remainder of the team, which includes seniors Natalie Sukhman and Samantha Rosenstein, along with juniors Alex Gray and Leah McKirgan, and freshman Maya Miller have been critically important to the team’s success to date, filling in to play important matches when needed and providing moral and vocal support to their fellow teammates. Captains Kit and Fiona, along with the other seniors, Natalia and Samantha, have done a fantastic job as leaders of the team by creating an incredible team spirit and energy.
