MS Debate Report
On Saturday, October 13th, 17 novice MS debaters attended the New York Debate League opening scrimmage held at the West End Secondary School in Manhattan.
Zara H., Ella R., Nina Z., Aran B., Brodi C., Matthew G., Arjun V., Sam S., Riyaan R., Justin D., Shaun K., Vivek M., Angela C., Juno Y., Sejal V., Isabella B., and Tyler M. competed in 3 rounds of debate on the topics Ban Homework and Voting in Federal Elections should be mandatory. MS debate students will participate in 5 more tournaments throughout the 2018 – 2019 year. Congratulations to all the new MS debaters!

Special thanks to all the parents who assisted and volunteered to judge, Matt Fisch ’19 for running tab, Kiri Fitzpatrick ’21 for judging and assisting, Zara Y., Robbie G., and Amy K. for participating in the live demonstration debate, and of course Mr. Maisonet for coaching. It was a productive and enjoyable way to start the debate season.
