Hackley Varsity Football

The season began with a Fall Sting win over Poly Prep, a first since 1995, and ended with a MIFL Bowl Championship win at home over Hopkins School.
Overall, the football Hornets compiled a 6-2 record, shared Ivy League title, and displayed the type of character and resiliency that Hackley School detailed in our Portrait of a Graduate. The 2018 squad won games with physical play, tactical skill, and unrelenting drive. Overcoming injuries at the end, freshmen and other newcomers took on starting roles and the team never wavered, defeating Hopkins School 28-7. Senior Dewaun Burns led the offense, racking up 873 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns while senior Folger Hogg led the defense with 101 tackles. The Hornets were led impressively by senior captains Jack Kneisley, Charlie Hite, and Folger Hogg.
