He discussed the importance of girls getting involved in coding at a young age. In the interview, he observes, "We now have over ten million girls coding on
Code.org" As 60 Minutes reports, Hadi says that "if just 1 percent of the girls in the program become computer science majors, many universities will have a 50/50 gender balance in the discipline within a decade. This would be a big step toward narrowing the gender gap in the fast-growing and high-paying computer science workplace."
