Hackley Students and Employees Participate in Leadership and Equity Conferences

This week on the Hilltop, students and adults participated in the Virtual Student Diversity Leadership Conference and the Virtual NAIS People of Color Conference.

The Virtual Student Diversity Leadership Conference kicked off on November 29, with four Upper School students participating as delegates. Hackley welcomed five student delegates from Rye Country Day School for an in-person dinner to celebrate the opening session. Students worked on reflective exercises and engaged in conversations in small and large group virtual settings throughout the week.

The NAIS Virtual People of Color Conference also kicked off on November 29, with equity and leadership classes, and on-demand sessions, a virtual summit, workshops, affinity group sessions, and more. The theme this year, “Reckoning with Impacts, Rolling with Just Intent” featured guest speakers such as Soledad O’Brien, john a. powell, Heather McGhee, and Adrian Michael Green. Fifteen Hackley employees took part in this year's conference.
