Ava Troso ‘23

I am researching the effects of gluten free diets on mitigating neurologic symptoms of Celiac Disease.

Why did you pursue this project?
I have always been fascinated by science, but more specifically molecular biology, immunochemistry, and autoimmunity. Life experiences with Celiac Disease have fostered in me a specific passion for Celiac Disease research. Currently, I am conducting a systematic review with researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota that will be published, as well as sending out a questionnaire survey analysis to hospitals nationwide about patient attitude towards participating in Celiac Disease research with Columbia University Medical Center.
