Athletes of the Week – Week of Dec. 5
Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.
Girls’ Varsity Basketball: Alessa Mendoza ’24
Alessa was named MVP last week in the Columbia Prep Tipoff Tournament. During the two-day event, she averaged 18 points, 5A, and 4S en route to the championship.
Varsity Wrestling: Liam Abraham ’23
Liam had a stellar weekend, going 5-0 at the Rye Duel Meet Tournament. He had two pins and victories over three other opponents at the 215-pound weight class.
Boys’ Varsity Basketball: Alex Grant ’23
Alex averaged 17.5 points and nine rebounds in the Columbia Prep Tipoff Tournament. His game high 21 points in the championship game earned him MVP honors.
