Athletes of the Week – Week of April 17

Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.

Boys’ Tennis: Ben Lefkovits ’23
Ben is off to a great start for the Boys’ Varsity Tennis team. He is currently undefeated in the No. 3 singles position and is a vital part of the team’s early success.
 
Track and Field: Linda Ohia-Enyia ’25
Linda has had a great week for the Hornets. In each of two meets this week, she ran two relays and competed in the 100m dash. In the latter meet, she won the 100m in 13.91 seconds and ran fast legs of a second place 4x400m relay and the winning 4x100m team.

Baseball: Andrew Carpenito ’26
In an exciting 8-4 win over Dalton last week, Andrew went 3-4 with a double and a triple and three RBIs.
 
Softball: Annabel Previdi ’25
Annabel batted .571 this week with two big hits over rival Rye Country Day. Those hits brought in valuable runs that resulted in a 5-0 win. She is also a key member on defense, playing shortstop, which has led to the team’s current undefeated record.

Boys’ Lacrosse: Cliff Chapman ’24
Cliff has had an exceptional start to the year, scoring 25 goals in five games. In his last two contests, Cliff scored five goals against Rye Country Day for a 10-8 win, and another five goals in the Poly Prep contest for a 13-6 win. Cliff has been instrumental to the early season success of the program.
