Hackley Falls in Opener

The Hackley Girls Varsity Golf team dropped its season opener to Rye Country day on Tuesday.  Braving the cold and wind at Doral Arrowwood, the Hornets gave a valient effort, but came up a bit short.  4 of the 5 matches went to the 6th hole or later, but Rye Country Day proved too strong.  Hackley was missing senior captain, Cosima Boettner, but welcomed new varisty golfers, Calista Santomero (8th grade), Alex Cooper (8th grade), and Andrea Bernacchia (9th grade).  Freshman Hadley Chapman and junior Samantha Rosenstein rounded out the squad.  Hackley looks for its frist win next week against Riverdale.
