Michael Baker ’61 chef and author of Eimer Talpidae Mole's Fabulous Underground Food Adventure, visited with two first grade classes in the Santomero Library on Wednesday, April 29th.
Michael Baker ’61 chef and author of Eimer Talpidae Mole's Fabulous Underground Food Adventure, visited with two first grade classes in the Santomero Library on Wednesday, April 29th. Michael provided a special reading of his book in a series called “cooks and books.”

After a quick costume change into his white chef’s jacket, Michael conducted a mini cooking presentation. The students learned how to cook mashed potatoes, potato chips and french fries; they also enjoyed learning about Eimer the mole, other underground foods and of course, former Hackley graduate and author Michael Baker.

Biography

Michael Baker has a varied career as chef, author and financial professional. Michael was the chef/owner of Cafe Liberte in Chappaqua New York and is currently a First Vice President for a major financial institution and partner in Susan Lawrence Gourmet Foods in Chappaqua. Susan Lawrence is one of the New York Metropolitan areas premier gourmet stores, bakery and caterer with a clientele that includes the most prestigious business and political leaders in America.

Among Michael's literary works are "Rochelle Rabbit, The First Easter Bunny"; "The Chef's Beautiful Food Diet", "The Three Legged Stock Stool" (subtitled "The Stupid Man's System"); and the soon to be released "Eimer in the Chicken Coop" a story about Eimer and the wonders of the Egg.
