A Million Thanks
In connection with Memorial Day, Hackley MS carried out a community service initiative to honor and raise awareness for our military. Read on.
Throughout the week leading up to Memorial Day, students and faculty took part in writing optional letters of gratitude to our active, reserve, and veteran service members. The intent was to show appreciation and to provide encouragement for our military personnel, acknowledging their perilous role in keeping us safe and our country protected. Over 40 letters were written which will be sent to an organization called A Million Thanks. They will then package and ship the letters out to our service members, both past and present.
On behalf of the Community Service Committee, we thank everyone who has written an appreciation letter, or who has simply taken a moment during the holiday weekend to reflect on our country’s freedom, remembering all those who have lost their lives so that we can enjoy our freedoms and liberties today.
