Athletes of the Week – Week of Jan. 1

Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.

Indoor Track & Field: Maggie Yalmokas ’25 
Though new to throwing, Maggie has come out of the gates strong during early season Ivy competition. Last week, she earned two personal bests. Her first in shot put with a distance of 20-1, placing 16th overall. Her second in the weight throw with a distance of 25-2.25, placing second overall and qualifying her for the NYSAIS Championship. Congratulations, Maggie!
 
Indoor Track & Field: Jackson Fauber ’25
Jackson led the way for the boys’ sprint squad last Wednesday at Ivy 2. He opened the night running a NYSAIS qualifying 40.05 in the 300m, placing him eighth overall in a field of 85 runners. He carried his momentum into the 4x200m relay, running the fastest leg of the squad, helping the boys’ 4x200 team place first place overall! Congratulations, Jackson!
 
Indoor Track & Field: Ben Iaderosa ’26
At Ivy 2, Ben ran the best 1000m race of his life and punched his ticket to the NYSAIS Championship. From the start gun to his final kick, he ran with focus and grit, running a time of 3:01.36, placing him 21st overall. The future looks bright for this up-and-coming distance runner. Congratulations, Ben!
